The Jemo, as she was then called, was originally built at HDW in Kiel. The ship was decommissioned sometime in the late 20th century and had changed ownership several times.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Between 2007 and 2010, the sleek ship with the beautiful lines was converted into the spectacular schooner that the Wylde Swan is today.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>She was re-launched in june 2010 as world\u2019s biggest two-mast topsail schooner , with worldwide certification as sailtrainingvessel. She was renamed Wylde Swan and is a ship that can certainly be seen within the tallships fleet, with very good sailing characteristics. The Wylde Swan has a length of 62 meters.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At sea, the Wylde Swan offers sail training and team building to people of all ages. In port the Wylde Swan is a great location for Corporate Hospitality.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Programme Maritime Museum:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The weekend of the 5th and 6th of october is the weekend of Science, and the museum is paying attention to this.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Two exhibitions will also open this weekend; one is the \u2018Battle for the ice\u2019 and the other is \u2018Rise and Tide by Kadir van Lohuizen, showing that the climate crisis is in full swing and can only be delayed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Both exhibitions fit in beautifully within the Masterskip programme, with sustainability includes as a theme in its curriculum. The students sail the world\u2019s seas on the Wylde Swan for 6 weeks. The 17 global goals for sustainable development from the United Nations have been taken as a starting point for its curriculum.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Nynke Verduyn of Masterskip Wylde Swan: \u201cThe link between theory and practice is very important in our education. During an ocean crossing we got al large predator on deck. The biology teacher naturally used that for an anatomy lesson. When dissecting it appeared that the fish had pieces of plastic in its stomach. There was a smaller fish in the stomach. After dissecting, it also had plastic in its stomach! These students will never forget that moment.
