Daar stroomt de getijdestroom vanaf de Atlantische Oceaan de Noordzee binnen. Omdat het water hier zich tussen een passage van 4 mijl breed perst, kunnen er extreme stroomsnelheden voorkomen, draaikolken, onderstromen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Omdat de stroomsnelheid hoger is dan de snelheid die de Wylde Swan kan behalen kunnen we alleen passeren met een west gaande stroming. Verder bereiden we ons goed voor. Het schip nog een keer extra goed zeevast maken, en we zetten een aantal parallele index lijnen op de kaart zodat we de radar kunnen gebruiken naast de GPS en visuele waarnemingen.
